Censer, Persian Iran, Qajar dynasty 1785–1925, 18th/19th century. Metal censer, height 33.0 cm, diameter 22.0 cm. Decoration: figurative scenes including hunting, human figures, animals, demons in cartouches; dense arabesques in the background; fantastic creatures such as dragons and beasts, acrobatics, riders, and plant motifs., A rounded lidded metal vessel on a flared pedestal with intricate openwork and engraved circular medallions, primarily dark bronze with areas of lighter brass or gold-toned highlights, showing a domed top with a pointed finial, a wide midsection with pierced floral and geometric patterns, and a tapered base decorated with similar filigree motifs.
