Japanese, Edo 1603–1868, 18th century, tsuba for katana; diameter 7.4 cm, thickness 0.38 cm., A round metal object with a dark brown surface and areas of lighter brown and copper tones, featuring cutout silhouettes of birds perched on irregular branches and openings, with smooth edges and some rough worn spots, set against a pale gray background.
