Sculpture made of decorative Fushan Mountains Zhejiang Province soapstone, full figure, natural patina. 18th–19th century, China. Height: 16.5 cm., A carved stone sculpture in beige and light brown tones depicts a large animal resembling an ox with curved horns standing on a decorative base, with a group of small human figures clustered around and atop the animal; the figures and the animal share the same stone color with subtle variations of darker brown and pale yellow, and the sculpture sits against a smooth gradient background shifting from dark gray at the top to pale gray at the bottom.
