Paper: striated, smoothed, cream, saffron-colored. 18th century, 19th century additions. Central Asia, Khiva. Manuscript; height 23.0 cm, width 14.5 cm, thickness 4.2 cm., An open ornate book rests on a pale gray surface, showing two aged pages with decorative borders and illuminated patterns; the paper is yellowed and browned at the edges, with visible wear and slight warping. The decoration features intricate motifs in gold tones, deep blue, red, green, and touches of white, forming symmetrical panels and corner embellishments around the central text areas. The binding and fore edge show worn brown leather and darker brown staining, and the gutter has creases where the pages meet. Overall the scene includes colors such as beige, brown, gold, blue, red, green, white, and pale gray.
