Vase with a thick neck, parted towards the spout. Cloisonné enamel on copper. The spout and foot are enclosed by brass rings. Ca. 1870–1880 Meiji Period, Japan, Nagoya. Vessel; height 26.5 cm, width 15.5 cm., A single ornate vase sits against a plain gray background, its shape narrowing at the neck and widening at the body, with a reflective surface at its base. The vase displays a bright blue field decorated with floral and botanical motifs in colors including blue, pink, white, green, red, yellow, and black. A bird with blue, white, and brown plumage is perched among branches and leaves, and there are several stylized flowers and buds in pink, white, and yellow on green stems. The upper neck area features a patterned band with floral and geometric designs in red, black, blue, white, and gold, and the rim and base edges show a metallic gold tone. The overall appearance is glossy and brightly colored with intricate painted details.
