Bronze helmet, 8th–7th century BC, Italy, armament; height 46 cm, width 17.5 cm, depth 23 cm, weight 2.740 kg, A weathered metallic object with a rounded dome and elongated cheek guards, showing a rough, pitted surface texture and areas of corrosion; the top features a vertical crest or ornament resembling an animal head with a pronounced snout and flared ears, attached to a short neck above the dome; the metal shows a range of colors including greenish patina, brownish and dark brown patches, and some lighter gray and off-white encrustations; the open lower edge of the helmet has a rectangular face opening and small perforations along the rim, and the whole piece rests against a plain neutral gray background.
