Head of a terracotta horse figurine. Terracotta head with part of the neck and mane of a horse. The animal's eyes and muzzle are marked. The mane, depicted in a long strip, falls to the right side of the head. The surface is heavily worn, with partially erased convex details. The darker original clay surface and remnants of red paint, are preserved in the recesses. Dated 332–30 BC; Hellenistic period, Greater Greece. Figurine. Height 3.3 cm, width 5.3 cm, depth 2.2 cm., A worn, irregularly shaped terracotta fragment resembling an animal head with textured surface and weathered edges, showing a few raised rounded features where an eye and snout appear, along with shallow carved indentations suggesting fur or mane detail; the object displays a mix of reddish-brown clay and patches of lighter beige or off-white encrustation, and it rests on a smooth light gray background casting a soft shadow beneath.
