Head of a man. Fragment of a terracotta figurine showing the head of an elderly man. Thin face with a bald skull; on the forehead three very long horizontal wrinkles; wide eyebrows connecting above the nose forming two vertical wrinkles that meet in a V-shape; sharp eyes with distinct upper and lower eyelashes, irises, and dark pupils. Crooked, rather large nose; closed mouth; vertical furrow on the chin; narrow neck. Pinkish, gray-burnt clay. Hellenistic period, Egypt, 332–30 BC. Figurine; height 4 cm, width 2.8 cm, depth 1.7 cm., A rough, irregularly shaped rock with a textured surface in shades of brown and gray sits against a pale gray background, showing a few small pits and crevices and an area with a darker reddish-brown patch; there are also traces of darker gray markings and a vertical streak of red on one face.
