Dilekyt, unknown Eastern workshop Syrian or Palestinian, glass vessel, 3rd century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476. The vessel consists of two tubes connected at one side with a flat bottom. The outer sides are gently curved toward the axis and decorated with two thick wavy glass threads. The threads begin with thickenings at one-third of the vessel's height and terminate at the rings of the slightly flared spouts. At the joints of the threads and spouts, a large bow-shaped vice is supported, wider on one side than the other and narrowed at the top. Height 15.7 cm; width 7.3 cm; depth 2.3 cm., A close-up of a green translucent glass object viewed from one end, showing a smooth, rounded double-lobed base with a glossy surface and some scuffs and imperfections; the object extends backward into a molded, curving form with a few ridges and flattened areas, and the overall colors visible are shades of green with reflections of white and pale gray in the background.
