Dilekyt, unknown Eastern workshop Syrian or Palestinian, glass vessel, 3rd century, Roman Empire. The vessel consists of two tubes connected at one side with a flat bottom. The outer sides are gently curved toward the axis and decorated with two thick wavy glass threads that begin with thickenings at one-third of the vessel's height and terminate at the rings of the slightly flared spouts. At the joints of the threads and spouts, a large bow-shaped vice is supported, wider on one side than the other and narrowed at the top. Height 15.7 cm; width 7.3 cm; depth 2.3 cm., A translucent glass vessel with a looped handle and an elongated body, showing a mix of green and pale blue tones; the handle is a darker green arching over the top, and a pair of wavy, ribbon-like glass attachments descend along the sides in green hues; the main body is a softer, slightly cloudy pale blue-green with visible surface imperfections and small bubbles, widening at the bottom into a rounded, slightly flattened base; the top has two adjacent openings with thicker rims, and the overall surface displays subtle streaks and variations in green and blue shades.
