Lamp, repossession Zabkowice Slaskie, Egypt, Coptic art, antiquity, oil lamp, Middle Ages. Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. 5th/6th century, Egypt, oil lamp, height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm, A worn, beige ceramic object with a rough, pitted surface and a hollow opening sits against a gray background, showing a textured grid pattern on one side and areas of darker brown staining and light discoloration; a dark metal chain with greenish patina links drapes over and through a hole in the ceramic and ends in a curved metal hook with similar green corrosion.
