Lamp, repossession Zabkowice Slaskie, Egypt, Coptic art, antiquity, oil lamp, Middle Ages. Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. 5th/6th century, Egypt, oil lamp, height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm, A small, worn clay vessel with a rounded, boat-like body and a raised central handle, showing a textured diamond pattern on its upper surface; the vessel has two openings near the handle and an attached metal loop through the handle. The visible colors are beige, tan, light brown, and hints of gray, with darker spots of brown and subtle areas of off-white.
