Lamp, repossession Zabkowice Slaskie, Egypt, Coptic art, antiquity, oil lamp, Middle Ages. Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. 5th/6th century, Egypt, oil lamp, height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm, A small, worn clay object resembling a shallow vessel with two openings and an attached loop is shown against a plain gray background; the surface has an uneven, pitted texture with a pattern of recessed squares on one side, and the colors visible include beige, tan, light brown, gray, and hints of darker brown.
