Lamp, Oval lamp made of yellow-gray clay with a high container and two handles, through which a bronze chain is strung for hanging the lamp. The high, sloping arms are decorated with a plastic ornament of a rectangular mesh. A channel running perpendicularly through the arms from the handle reaches the wick hole and surrounds it, creating a high rim. Coptic, Egypt, 5th–6th century. Oil lamp; height 10 cm, width 7.1 cm., A weathered ceramic object with a roughly diamond-shaped body and a pronounced spout is centered against a flat gray background, showing a textured surface with areas of worn beige, tan, and pale gray, along with darker gray around the rim of a hollow opening; the body displays a pattern of shallow square impressions on one side and irregular pits and rough patches across its surface, and a small raised element near the top suggests a handle or fin-like projection, all appearing aged and earthy in color.
