Pilgrim's bottle, Islamic/Arabic, Ayyubid dynasty 12th–13th century, Syria/Egypt/Middle East probable origin. Violet manganese glass. The belly is widened at the arms, which merge into a cylindrical, slightly convex neck with a narrow opening. One wall bears a star motif with a rosette in the middle and a palmette; the other and the side arms show a honeycomb motif. Vessel; height 11.8 cm, width 9.1 cm, depth 4.2 cm., A rounded object with a short neck and rounded top, shown against a plain gray background, with an overall deep purple surface that transitions to dark brown and black toward the edges; the surface shows a few lighter purple hexagonal patterns, several small scratches and scuffs, and a few pale worn spots.
