Oil lamp, Islamic art, Arabic culture; household ceramic oil lamp almond-shaped misbah zajti with conical handle, closed form; yellow clay modeled in two molds and glued together with impressed decorations. Decorated on the upper surface with arched lines forming a palmette-shaped composition below the olive opening; sides of the arms decorated with fine lines. Inside the ring of the foot is the Arabic inscription baraka “grace, blessing, boon”; remaining bottom surface decorated with chevron and grid patterns. Attributed to type A per W. Kubiak's typology for Al-Fustat; dated 8th–10th century; possible origin Syria or Palestine. Dimensions: height 3.4 cm, length 10.7 cm, width 6.9 cm., An oval, shallow ceramic object with a rounded protrusion on one end and a spout-like opening on the opposite end rests against a pale background; the surface is textured with carved concentric lines and geometric motifs, showing worn and rough areas, with visible shadows beneath it; the colors visible are beige, tan, light brown, dark brown, black, and gray.
