Oil lamp, Islamic art, Arabic culture; household ceramic oil lamp almond-shaped misbah zajti, modeled in two molds and glued together from yellow clay with impressed decorations; closed form with conical handle. Decorated on the upper surface with arched lines forming a palmette-shaped composition below the olive opening; sides of the arms decorated with fine lines. Inside the ring of the foot and on the bottom, the word baraka grace/blessing appears; remaining bottom surface decorated with chevron and grid patterns. Geometric ornament. Type A according to W. Kubiak's typology for al-Fustat dated 8th–10th century. Probable origin: Syria or Palestine. Dimensions: height 3.4 cm, length 10.7 cm, width 6.9 cm., A worn oval clay object with an irregular central opening and a pointed end with a small round hole, decorated with carved concentric and wavy grooves and ridges, showing rough texture and signs of wear; colors visible include shades of beige, tan, light brown, darker brown, and hints of gray on a pale gray background.
