Terracotta figurine of Heracles. Figurine of a standing naked Heracles in a contrapposto pose with a cloak thrown over his back. His right hand rests on a rock, and in his left he probably holds a club. Terracotta, made from a mold. Figurine of a nude male, Greek mythology. Condition: good. Date: 2nd–1st century BC. Place of origin: Asia Minor. Height: 14.3 cm., A roughly carved standing figure of a human form made of a light tan, beige material with areas of darker brown and faint yellowish spots, showing a simplified head, shoulders, and torso; the surface is textured with visible pitting and small cracks, and there are worn, smoother areas on the torso and head. The figure is viewed in profile, with one arm suggested against the body and the lower portion flaring into a skirt-like shape; the base is uneven and rests on a smooth reflective surface. The background is a uniform medium gray.
