Female terracotta figurine of a standing woman, depicted frontally. Set on a small, hollow, bottomless base, rectangular at the front and oval at the back. A large rectangular opening at the back shows clear traces of carving in the unfired clay. The woman stands with legs slightly apart, weight on the right leg, left leg bent and slightly forward. Arms lowered, slightly bent at the elbows, hands holding a cloak at hip level. Head turned slightly left on a long neck; elongated face with very faint features. Long, combed-back hair flows over the shoulders. A polos on her head is decorated with a horizontal red line. Garments fit snugly with plastically defined folds. Traces of red polychrome on a white ground cover the entire surface; lines highlight garment folds and mark a necklace, and the belt tying the peplos. Damaged polychrome. 5th century BC, Greece. Height 19.6 cm., A weathered, narrow vertical sculpture with an elongated neck and simplified head stands against a neutral gray background; the surface shows rough, uneven texture with chips and flaking, and the interior cavity is exposed along the front revealing layered material. The piece displays a palette of earthy tones including beige, tan, light brown, ochre, and hints of reddish-brown, with small areas of pale off-white where the surface is worn. The base is irregular and blocky with similar worn coloration, and the object casts a faint reflection on the smooth surface beneath it.
