Remains of engraved guide lines made by a stonemason. Traces of red paint highlighting elements of the pediment and on the top and side strips, in metopic form. Below the epigraphic field: an unidentified brownish, rounded shape. Side edges rather carelessly worked; back surface with very long tool marks. Object glued from eight fragments; upper part not preserved. Six later holes for wall mounting photos show the stele mounted to a wall. Dated 30 BC–1 AD beginning of the Roman period. Probable findspot: Tell el-Yahudiya. Grave inscription in Greek. Height 48.8 cm, width 27.4 cm, depth 2.7 cm., The image shows a rectangular stone tablet with a triangular pediment at the top and a recessed central panel; the stone surface is mostly beige with areas of pale tan and light brown, with scattered patches of reddish discoloration and faint darker brown marks, and small darker holes along the sides and bottom; the edges are irregular and slightly chipped, and the recessed panel surface appears smoother and slightly lighter than the surrounding border.
