Altar panels: Annunciation and Adoration of the Child, Franco-Flemish painter, provenance unknown, Annunciation of the Virgin Mary iconography, Adoration of the Child iconography, medieval art, probably the wings of a home altar, ca. 1380, altar panel; Annunciation—height 40.0 cm, width 28.5 cm, thickness 3.0 cm; Adoration—height 39.5 cm, width 29.0 cm, thickness 3.0 cm., A worn rectangular wooden panel with an inner painted surface surrounded by a red-painted wooden frame that shows chipped paint and many small holes; the inner panel has a mottled, aged appearance in muted green, brown, and gray tones with areas of peeling and discoloration; a small square of brown paper is affixed near the upper center of the inner panel and a round red wax seal is attached to the right side; a few rectangular paper labels are attached near the bottom and top edges; the outermost edge of the frame shows exposed wood in brown and lighter beige where paint is worn.
