The icon shows the Resurrection, and below the Descent into the Abyss. Around the resurrected Christ are visible wounded soldiers; on the left, angels looking at Michael, who is dealing with a demon. From the lower left corner to the upper right, a procession of the righteous ascends from Sheol to heaven, led by the Good Thief. In the lower right corner is Christ's meeting with the apostles on Lake Gennesaret. In the upper left corner is the Crucifixion; in the upper right, the meeting of the Good Thief with Moses and Isaiah. Above the central depiction is the New Testament Trinity. Side panels bear inscriptions relating to individual scenes. 18th–19th century. Ural. Icon. Height 26.3 cm; width 22.0 cm., The image shows a rectangular panel painting with a wide brownish-gold border and a central scene dominated by warm gold, ochre, red, green, and dark brown tones; a vertical arrangement of rocky, sloping hills fills the composition with groups of robed figures standing or kneeling on the terraces. At the center and slightly lower is a larger standing figure clothed in golden-orange robes surrounded by an oval greenish-gold radiance, reaching toward a kneeling figure; a group of haloed figures in robes of red, green, and blue gather around them. Above, another standing radiant figure in similar golden robes appears within a smaller oval of green-gold light, flanked by angelic figures in multi-colored robes with wings. Near the top center a semi-circular heavenly scene shows two seated figures within a cloud formation, rendered in pale gold and muted reds and greens. Along the left side a dark arched tomb opening and a scene of a crucifixion-
