In the centre the Mother of God is shown—an orant surrounded by praying people led by angels. Above is a medallion depicting the Old Testament Holy Trinity, framed by two cherubim, and above it the Mandylion. In the background a rich, though linear, floral ornament is visible, into which the letters of the Marian monogram are woven. 19th century, Russia, icon, height 9.1 cm, width 5.7 cm., A rectangular metal plaque with a raised relief design, shown against a plain gray background, appears in a gold color. The plaque features a central standing figure with a halo, arms outstretched, surrounded by a group of smaller human figures in various poses on either side and below, along with ornamental vine-like patterns. Above the central panel is a smaller raised section topped by a framed portrait-like relief and flanked by two stylized animal or mythical head motifs, all rendered in the same gold color. The plaque has small attachment loops at the bottom corners and shows slight variations in the gold tone where the raised details catch the light.
