The central part of the triptych depicts three angels sitting behind a trapeze on which pieces of prosphora lie and poteirons stand. Below the trapeze are Abraham and Sarah worshipping the Three Wanderers, and between them is a scene of the binding/killing of a youth. In the background are a palace, a tree, and a mountain. The cast relief is decorative, and the figures are depicted in slightly mannered poses. An identifying inscription appears on the upper frame, and above the main image, on the axis, is the Mandylion. 17th century, Veliky Novgorod, icon; height 7.7 cm, width 5.5 cm., A small square metallic plaque with a tab at the top, shown against a plain light gray background. The plaque is a warm golden-bronze color overall, with slightly darker shadows in the recessed areas and subtle highlights on raised surfaces. The front surface is richly molded with a central scene in low relief depicting several human figures arranged around a table or central object; the figures have stylized drapery and distinct heads and hands. Architectural elements and decorative motifs frame the scene, including small building-like shapes and arching lines. The top tab features a carved head in relief. The plaque's edges are slightly irregular and show minor surface wear and small indentations.
