Ushabti, Hor-em-saf ca. 664–525 BC. Mummy-shaped figurine of green faience, 10.6 cm high, 3.2 cm wide. Stocky figure standing on a base, supported at the back by a pillar. Arms crossed on the chest; only the hands visible from under the shroud, clenched into fists holding a hoe right and a pickaxe left. A basket on a single strap is slung over the left shoulder. Engraved tools. Smooth three-part wig; straight, braided beard. Large eyes with downcast eyelids, prominent mouth with a slight smile, wide nose. Engraved inscription in two columns on the front of the legs: Shd Osiris Hor-em-saf born of T-ate-iset. 664–525 BC; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt., A slender upright statuette viewed in profile against a plain gray background, showing a standing figure with a smooth rounded head and a long straight body fused to a small rectangular base; the surface has irregular textures and areas of wear, with a mottled palette of pale green, light brown, and darker brown patches, and small spots of off-white; the facial features are low in relief on the right-facing profile, and the figure’s arms are held close to the torso, blending into the body shape.
