Ushabti, unknown creator; Hor-em-saf ca. 664–525 BC. Mummy-shaped figurine made of green faience. Stocky build, standing on a base, supported at the back by a pillar/pilaster. Arms crossed on the chest; from under the shroud only the hands clenched into fists are visible. Right hand holds a hoe, left hand a pickaxe; a basket on a single string hangs over the left shoulder. Engraved tools. Smooth three-part wig, straight braided beard. Large eyes with downcast eyelids, prominent mouth with a slight smile, wide nose. Engraved inscription in two columns on the front of the legs reading: Shd Osiris Hor-em-saf born of T-ate-iset. 664–525 BC; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt. Type: shabti. Height 10.6 cm; width 3.2 cm., A slender vertical statuette of a human figure shown in profile, standing on a rectangular base with a slightly forward-leaning posture; the figure wears a close-fitting headdress and a long garment that falls to the feet, and the arms appear crossed or held close to the body; surface texture is worn and pitted with areas of smooth carving, showing a mix of pale tan, sandy brown, and patches of greenish patina, set against a plain gray background.
