Black-finned skyphos, early 4th century BC, Attica; thick-walled variety with two handles, deep bowl on a low profiled foot. Inside: stamped ornament with six palmettes; within a circle two concentric circles with ovules between them; surrounded by a band of ovules between two engraved lines. Outer part of the foot decorated with concentric circular elements. Technology: varnish evenly distributed, matte; visible turning marks. Admixtures: mica, pyroxene. Clay color 2.5 YR 6/6 light red. Varnish color 10 YR 2/1 black. Vessel skyphos. Dimensions: height 10.4 cm; width 23.5 cm; depth 16.6 cm; weight 0.456 kg; foot diameter 8.2 cm. Maker: unknown., A top-down view of a round two-handled bowl with a smooth dark surface showing wear and a few small chips, the bowl interior featuring a faint circular decorative motif with a central floral-like design and concentric rings; the handles extend horizontally from opposite sides and share the same dark finish, and the background is a light neutral color.
