Red-figure aryballus lekythos with a scene of Aphrodite's toilet, On the belly: Aphrodite crouching and Eros handing her an alabastron, beginning of the 4th century BC previously dated to the 2nd quarter of the 4th century BC, findspot Nola, origin Campania, vessel: lekythos aryballus lekythos, height 16.5 cm, width 19.5 cm, weight 0.23 kg, subjects: Aphrodite, Eros, Greek deities., A black ceramic vessel with a rounded body, narrow neck, flared rim, and a single handle, decorated with orange-colored painted figures and swirling motifs; the upper neck area shows a band of vertical petal-like shapes in orange, the body features large scrolling tendrils and teardrop forms in orange against the black background, and a partial human-like figure with wings rendered in orange is visible on one side; the base has a repeating orange decorative border and the rim and handle show small areas where the black surface is chipped, revealing an orange underlayer.
