Amulet — god Thoth; amulet depicting Thoth Egyptian deity; Egyptian religion; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, 664–525 BC; material not stated; height 5.2 cm, width 2.1 cm., A small carved figure shown in profile with an elongated bird-like head and beaked face, wearing a ribbed headdress and a pleated skirt; the figure is attached to a flat rectangular backpiece with a round hole near the shoulder. The surface shows a turquoise-green color with areas of pale blue and muted green, along with patches of brown discoloration and darker brown worn areas especially near the lower edge and hand. The carving displays incised lines on the headdress and skirt, a smooth torso and arm, and a slightly textured surface with small speckled spots. The background is a uniform light gray.
