The young man stands cross-legged, dressed in a garment that can be interpreted as a chiton or as Roman armor with pteryges, he has a Phrygian cap, on his head, and his right hand rests on a circular object a tambourine or rather a shield. 1st–3rd century, Egypt, oil lamp; height 19.5 cm, width 9.7 cm, depth 4 cm., A weathered, irregularly shaped object made of rough, brown material stands upright against a plain light gray background; the object has an overall earthy brown color with patches of darker brown and small areas of lighter, almost tan tones, a rounded top that tapers into a bulging midsection with a circular hole, a protruding lower extension that curves outward, a small rectangular label attached near the base with a strip of blue at its edge, and subtle surface texture variations including small pits and scuffs.
