Figurine of the goddess Toeris in the form of a pregnant hippopotamus standing on lion legs and equipped with a crocodile tail; a stand under the legs and a pendant on the back. Egyptian deities; crocodiles; hippopotamuses. 664–332 BC, Late Period, Egypt. Amulet; height 5 cm, width 1.5 cm., A small carved figurine viewed from the back, primarily pale turquoise-green with areas of darker green and patches of brownish and creamy wear, standing on a rectangular base; the figure has long, stylized hair or a headdress with vertical grooves and a long back piece carved with chevron-like ridges, and the surface shows small spots of discoloration and tiny pits.
