Amulet – weight of a menit necklace;, An amulet in the shape of the counterweight of a menit necklace, with the image of a mummy-shaped, falcon-headed deity in a double crown holding an ankh in the longitudinal part and a lotus flower with two buds in the round lower part. On the reverse is a column of text with a sacrificial formula to the goddess Uadjit. Materials and iconography include Re, lotuses, menitoses, Uadjit, double crown, Egyptian deities, hieroglyphs, ankh, sacrificial formulas; function: amulet. Late Period, Egypt, 664–332 BC. Height 9.2 cm; width 3.3 cm., A vertically oriented weathered object with a rounded bottom and a narrower rounded top, displaying a rough, pitted surface and carved linear grooves running down its center. The surface shows a mottled mix of green, pale green, brown, tan, gray, and black tones with areas of darker spotting and lighter patches. There are a few rectangular paper fragments affixed near the top and lower right, one of which is reddish in color and another is tan, both contrasting with the stone-like material. The carved central strip contains shallow recessed shapes and worn indentations, and the edges of the object are slightly irregular and smoother than the textured central areas. The background is a uniform light gray.
