Amulet - figurine of a lion-headed goddess. A lion-headed goddess, in a tripartite wig and a narrow robe, walks with a lotus scepter in her left hand the right one is lowered. Presumably the goddess Sekhmet. Materials/type: amulet. Subject: lion-headed goddess, lionesses; Egyptian deities Sekhmet, Wadjit, Bastet suggested. Function: grave goods. Date: 664–332 BC, Late Period, Egypt. Dimensions: height 8.8 cm, width 1.7 cm. Maker: unknown., A slender standing figurine with a stylized animal head and elongated body rendered in a mix of bright turquoise, aqua, pale green, and spots of darker blue, with scattered patches of brown and rust-colored discoloration; the figure has an upright posture, long arms held close to the torso, a defined chest and hips, a long skirt-like lower garment, a rounded base with worn edges showing dark brown and reddish tones, and a small loop or hole near the back of the head.
