Scarab with a depiction of two baboons adoring Bes; on the reverse, a convex image of a scarab occupies the center of the oval surface, decorated with engraved parallel lines. ca. 1295–1186 BC; New Kingdom, 19th–20th Dynasty, Egypt. Scarab amulet; height 2.5 cm, width 3.6 cm., An oval, carved object in brown and tan tones sits against a light gray background; the surface shows a darker brown central figure seated on a low stool with elongated vertical elements rising above its head, flanked by two upright humanlike figures on either side that face inward with raised arms; the left and right figures and the central figure are carved in relief with visible grooves and rounded depressions around them, and the object's edges show slight wear and darker speckling.
