Head of a priest figurine. A man's head fragment of a statuette, completely devoid of hair. Skull bony structure excavated, expanded in the rear, upper part highly vaulted. Small, narrow eyes with heavy drooping eyelids; fleshy nose flattened at the tip with wide, thick nostrils. Deep furrows and wrinkles under the eyes and around the nose and mouth. Fleshy, schematically developed ears, right ear slightly flattened. With base. c. 747–656 BC; Third Intermediate Period, 25th Dynasty, Egypt. Sculpture. Height 4.7 cm; width 3.5 cm; depth 4 cm., A small sculpted head viewed from the back, showing a rounded skull and short neck with small protruding ears; the surface appears rough and weathered with mottled dark brown and black tones and patches of lighter brown and gray; the head is mounted on a dark rectangular base with a textured lower layer and sits on a clear pedestal; the background is a plain light gray.
