Head of a priest figurine, male, Egyptian sculpture; a man's head fragment of a statuette, completely devoid of hair. Excavated bony skull structure, expanded in the rear, upper part highly vaulted. Small, narrow eyes with heavy drooping eyelids; fleshy nose flattened at the tip with wide, thick nostrils. Deep furrows and wrinkles under the eyes and around the nose and mouth. Fleshy, schematically rendered ears, right ear slightly flattened. With base 10.5 cm. Circa 747–656 BC, Third Intermediate Period, 25th Dynasty, Egypt. Sculpture; height 4.7 cm, width 3.5 cm, depth 4 cm., A profile view of a sculpted head displayed on a small rectangular base, showing a rounded skull, forehead, nose, lips, chin, and ear with textured surface irregularities; the sculpture has a rough mottled coloration of dark brown, black, and lighter brown patches with small areas of pale and reddish tones, and it sits on a dark brown support placed on a translucent stand against a light gray background.
