New Year's canteen, Flat round faience canteen with a narrow short neck ending in a chipped spout shaped like a papyrus capital, decorated on both sides with plastic figurines of crouching baboons with elbows on knees and paws supporting the muzzle. A floral necklace is depicted in relief on both sides of the neck, and a hieroglyphic text runs along the narrow sides. Date: 664–525 BC, Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt. Vessel; height 17.5 cm +1.5 cm base, width 13.7 cm, weight 0.37 kg., A round, flattened vessel with a short flared neck and wide rim, shown upright on a clear stand against a plain dark gray background; the vessel surface is predominantly pale green with areas of light blue-green and subtle beige patina, and there is a darker irregular brownish stain near the center of its face; near the neck there is a band of incised decorative lines and geometric patterns, and two small applied sculptural elements at the shoulder on either side of the neck; a small fragment of a dark brown label is visible at the lower edge of the vessel.
