Ankhren's shabti, Ankh-ren name. Mummy-shaped figurine shabti, funerary gift, standing on a base and supported at the back by a pilaster. Arms crossed on the chest, holding hoes in both hands; a string in the right hand suspends a basket over the left shoulder. Convex tools. Smooth three-part wig, ears uncovered. Facial details slightly blurred, large eyes, proportionate nose, straight long beard. Inscription engraved in a column on the front of the legs: The word spoken by Osiris Ankh-ren .... Date: 664–30 BC Late Period–Ptolemaic Period. Provenance: Tuna el-Gebel Tuna el-Galat according to owner. Type: shabti. Height: 10.8 cm., A small standing figure seen in profile against a plain gray background, with a smooth elongated shape and a stylized head and shoulders; the surface shows a mottled green glaze with areas of darker green, brown, and pale tan, and a worn, slightly glossy texture; the figure appears wrapped or draped with subtle raised contours suggesting arms and a narrow base supporting the form.
