The vessel is slightly widened toward the top and slightly flared, narrowed at the bottom by three concave arched recesses, highlighted with orange overglaze lines. Two outward-arching side handles have decorative shapes with three semicircular protrusions ending in scrolls; the lower surfaces of the handles are painted orange. The handle shapes and the orange stripes on the lid echo the arched concave recesses of the lower part of the sugar bowl.
