Standing figure, visible to the knees, turned 3/4 to the right; left hand pointing toward the battle, right hand on the hilt of a sword. White wig with ponytail and black cockade, white shirt, red uniform with high white cuffs and gold braiding, black cuirass with yellow lapels, caftan with brown and black ribbon at the waist, sapphire ribbon with a cross at the neck, ribbon of the Order of the Golden Fleece over the left shoulder, black regimental baton with a yellow tip in the right hand. Background: left a brown tent canvas; cloudy blue-gray and yellow sky, gray landscape, silhouettes of soldiers and a battle in the background. Subjects: rulers, landscapes, soldiers, portraits to the waist, men. Medium and format: miniature, paper binding, plush red leather case. Dimensions: height 4.5 cm, width 5.8 cm. Date: 1750. Place of origin: Germany., A framed miniature portrait of a man wearing a powdered white wig and a dark coat with a bright blue sash, a red sleeve, and elaborate white and gold cuffs, set against a cloudy blue and gray sky with a distant landscape; the portrait is mounted on black velvet inside a red rectangular box with a gold-trimmed oval opening and a gold decorative border around the painting.
