Rectangular passe-partout made of green paper imitating silk grosgrain, a strip of gilded paper with an embossed fine ornament, embossed pearls on the edges. Dated 1830, miniature, height 13.5 cm, width 10.2 cm., An oval portrait of a young person with pale skin, rosy cheeks, and dark eyes set against a dark background, framed by dark brown to black hair that falls in curls around the face and neck; the face shows subtle pink and peach tones on the cheeks and lips, with lighter skin tones on the forehead and neck. The portrait is set within an oval mat that appears dark brown to black inside the oval and surrounded by a decorative border in muted gold. Around the oval is a rectangular outer frame in various shades of green with a textured or marbled appearance, accented by a row of small round gold embellishments along the inner and outer edges. The overall color palette includes greens, golds, dark brown or black, pale skin tones, pinks, and peach.
