Portrait of a woman in a white dress by Grzegorz Sachowicz 1819–1877, photographic studio, portrait en trois-quarts, female portrait, Polish miniature, 1850–1870. Bust three-quarter left. Dark hair tied in a high knot and girded with a braid, with a wide strand ending in a tubular curl on the neckline and shoulder. Shawl and dress pale blue, low-cut, with a finely pleated ruffle at the bodice. Background stippled, dark olive, yellowish on the right and much lighter. Frame: narrow, semi-convex oval rim made of gilded bronze mostly worn. Miniature, height 3.9 cm, width 3.2 cm. On the reverse: inscription: Owner: Sakowicz; April 23, 1917., An oval pendant with a thin gold-colored metal frame contains a small painted portrait of a young woman shown from the shoulders up, facing slightly toward the viewer. The woman has dark hair styled up with a loose strand at the neck and a dark decorative element at the back of her head, pale skin, and a neutral expression. She wears a light-colored, possibly white, garment with soft folds at the neckline. The background shows a darker area behind one side of her head and a lighter, warm-toned area behind the other, with the overall color palette including gold, gray, dark brown or black, pale skin tones, white, and muted beige.
