Aniela, née Czarnecka, Countess Krasicka, wife of Leon, painted by Stanislaw Marszalkiewicz 1789–1872. Miniature portrait 1838 of an elderly woman, 3/4 bust right, head almost straight. Black hair gathered in tubular curls above the forehead and around the temples and face. She wears a white ruffled headdress trimmed with large bright red bows; a la ferronnière with a jewel above the forehead; pearls around the neck; a white collar trimmed with a fine ruffle; and a black dress. Grey-greenish background. Frame: gilded bronze and wood, slightly recessed oval rim of gilded bronze with a palmette motif in a flat, black-polished slat; beveled glass. Along the left edge: S. Marszalkiewicz. Inscription on the reverse of the binding early 20th century: A/z Czarnecki/Krasicka/Mother of Witold and Miaczynska/Waclaw and Oskierczanka/and Edward and Oginska/Mal. in 1838/by S... ...kiewicz. Miniature dimensions: height 7.2 cm, width 5.7 cm., A framed oval portrait of a woman set against a dark brown rectangular background with a subtle woodgrain pattern; the oval frame is gold and inside it the portrait shows a woman with pale skin and dark curled hair, wearing a white ruffled bonnet accented with red ribbons and a red bow at her neck, a dark dress with a white lace collar, and a small triangular pendant; visible colors include dark brown, gold, pale skin tones, black, white, red, and muted gray-green.
