Seated figure nearly to the knees, head three-quarters to the left, torso slightly to the right. Black hair parted in the middle with braided side coils and a bun at the back; wearing a pearl necklace and a purple and black dress with lace at the bodice and cuffs. Right hand rests on the armrest of an armchair with an oval backrest. Background: grey-olive wall with a column and sky. Framed in a rectangular mahogany frame with an oval cutout and a bronze strip around the cutout; edges of the frame also trimmed with a bronze strip. The background inside the oval is softly shaded in muted beige and gray tones with a vertical architectural element behind her. The frame around the portrait is dark wood with a thin metallic inner border and a small hanging loop at the top that has a bit of red material. Colors visible include dark brown, black, beige, light cream, pale pink, gold, and a touch of red.
