A carved and gilded balustrade or canopy with intricate scrollwork in gold runs vertically on the right, supported by a twisted column in warm golden and brown tones. On the left side there are sculpted statues, framed devotional images, gilded candlesticks, and decorative panels in muted grays, browns, creams, and touches of gold; a few figures dressed in dark and white garments kneel or stand near a side altar.
