Standing figure shown from the right side, knee-deep, head three-quarters to the right. Dark brown hair parted in the middle; thin circular braids at the sides; decoration of rusty-red velvet ribbons at the back of the head; a gold chain with a la ferroniere medallion above the forehead; black velvet ribbon at the neck. White dress with a tyftic shawl with yellow and turquoise stripes on the left shoulder; arms lowered and folded. Background slightly watered. Rectangular narrow bronze frame decorated with a palmette, fluting and pearls; in a lockable case of dark purple leather. Inscription: IX Kaniewski/m. in Rome 1840. Subject: Aleksandra Radziwill, née Stecka 1796–1864, wife of Michal IX Radziwill 1778–1850., A framed portrait of a woman shown from the waist up turned slightly to the side, wearing a white off-the-shoulder dress with ruffled sleeves and a patterned shawl draped over one shoulder; she has dark hair styled in ringlets with a red head covering and a thin headband, and her hands are clasped in front of her. The image includes a dark brown frame with a thin gold inner border and a light, pale background. Colors visible include white, dark brown, gold, red, black, blue, yellow, green, and pale skin tones.
