Portrait of the artist's mother, Albertyna Ciesielska née Cienkusz, wife of Kazimierz Ciesielski, painted by Wladyslaw Ciesielski 1845–1901. Portrait of the artist's mother in mourning attire. Probably painted based on a photograph, as evidenced by the simplified flat modeling of the figure. 3/4 bust turned left, head nearly straight. Gray-blond hair with a black cap and a wide ribbon falling over the shoulder; white lace collar at the neck; black dress. Greenish background with greenish-brown upper area. Inscription: ALBERTYNA CIESIELSKA. Binding: narrow gilt-bronze border with double fluting. 1878, France. Miniature; height 15.1 cm, width 12.4 cm., An oval portrait of an older woman set in a gold frame; she wears a dark garment with a white lace collar and a black bonnet or headpiece with a dark ribbon, and her hair is light brown; her skin is pale with subtle rosy tones and a neutral expression on her face; the background is a muted greenish-blue, and the frame shows gold and brass tones.
