Portrait of George I Radziwill ca. 1480–1541, unknown Polish painter. Oval portrait with a laurel wreath incorporated into the painting's rectangle. Within the oval: bust turned slightly to the left of a slim, grey-haired man with short hair, a drooping mustache and a beard divided into two parts, wearing black plate armor with decorative shoulder straps and a gold chain across the right shoulder and chest. Brown-gray smooth oval background. The portrait rests on the back of a black eagle with a princely mitre on its head; the eagle bears trumpets coat of arms on its chest and holds two trumpets in its beak both in red fields, the upper one empty, the lower one possibly an axe. In its claws the eagle holds a white ribbon with a Latin inscription. Dated 1733–1737. Painting; height 110 cm, width 74 cm., A painted portrait of a bearded man shown from the chest up inside an oval wreath, wearing dark clothing with ornate gold trim and a long gray beard with a mustache; the wreath is brownish-gold and the background is a deep brown. The man has a pale skin tone and short dark hair with gray at the temples, and he wears a dark cloak or armor with decorative gold ropes and patterns. Below the portrait is a dark eagle-like emblem with a small shield and ornamental elements in muted blue, red, and gold, and a rolled parchment-like band beneath the emblem. The overall frame is a gold color and the image palette includes browns, blacks, grays, gold, muted blue, and muted red.
