There is green foliage and a tree with green leaves positioned above and beside the buildings, and a twisted pale trunk of another tree to the right. The sky is painted with shades of blue, gray, and white, and distant greenery in muted green and yellow sits along the horizon. Rocks or rounded stones in gray and bluish tones lie near the base of the steps, and there are shadowed areas in deep gray and blue across the scene. Broad painterly brushstrokes and textured layers of paint are visible throughout.
