Several mostly bare-chested figures stand around the column, some wearing draped cloth in colors such as blue, brown, yellow, red, and green, with a few figures holding long thin objects like sticks or spears and one holding a slender lit candle. A group of figures appear to be in active motion with raised arms and gestures, while a couple of figures are seated or kneeling on the platform edge and two figures lie on the lower steps, one wearing a blue tunic and red leggings and the other wearing a yellow top and brown cloth. The palette includes dark black, pale gray of the column and stone, flesh tones, and accents of blue, yellow, red, brown, green, and white.
